It seems fitting that the first post of 2015 would be a Shawarma post, no? :D
Here's to getting straight to the point.

1. Reading

Everyone has a New Years reading resolution, and reading those inspirational, super realistic plans to read 300 books by the end of the year has done some good: reminding me that I've been 'reading' one book for basically 3 months now. The worst, I am it.

The Case of Charles Dexter Ward
Obviously not the cover for my version. amazon

I introduce to you The Case of Charles Dexter Ward by H.P. Lovecraft. Guys. You guys. The book is ridic. Like, so amazing, you have to abrev your words when describing it. RIDIC.
It's a fairly old book so you can easily find a free, legal copy online. Even if you're not a huge horror fan (exhibit A: the one time I was dumb enough to read "Cujo" when I was 10 and spent maybe the next 4 months sleeping with the light on), Lovecraft tends to ease you into it with his frankly brilliant pacing. Get it. Now. Forget being in labour, a good story is for a lifetime.

2. Watching

A ton of YouTube. And figuring out, in the year 2014, that YouTube is not just for music videos and bootleg Adventure Time episodes. Who'd have thought. The Booktube world is filled with thousands of gems, but one of my personal favourites so far has to be The Readables

Fair warning, the bookshelf tours will give you terribly low self esteem, and you will love it. Click watch, darn it!

3. Shockingly Discovering I'm Into

Yoga. Seriously. I can feel the blonde ponytail growing already. Summary post on Sunday, 18th January, 2015. Exact date so you know it's the rilllest.

In any case, I have to go do my 5 minute yoga before bedtime routine and then stay up 'til 3am pretending to watch a documentary. 2015 is looking good, no?
